Walrus Audio MAKO R1 Reverb

R1 is a multifunctional digital stereo reverb pedal made by Walrus Audio in USA. it is a part of MAKO series along with D1 delay, M1 modulation and ACS1 amp simulator.

Walrus R1 features 6 reverberation modes: Spring, Hall, Plate, BFR, Refract, Air. The first four are classic reverb sounds going from subtle to big (BFR stands for Big Fucking Reverb) whereas Refract adds a glitchy texture and Air adds a shimmer effect.

Pressing and holding SUS/LATCH switch on the bottom-right sustains the current reverb sound allowing to play over it using the same reverb algorithm.

“Tweak” knob gives access to three parameters depending on the position of the leftmost switch: Rate and Depth of the modulation and pre-delay time. “Tune” knob changes wet signal EQ setting and “Mix” interpolates between dry and wet signal.

R1 allows to choose between true bypass, DSP bypass and the combination of two. DSP bypass leaves tails playing after the effect is switched off.

R1 supports stereo. Has two inputs as well as two outputs.
