Boss OD-1X OverDrive

OD-1X is an overdrive pedal by Roland Corporation sold under the brand Boss and manufactured in Taiwan. It is a modern “Special edition” version of the classic OD-1 Overdrive which was in production since 1984. OD-1X was introduced in 2014 thus marking the 30-year anniversary of its ancestor.

The original OD-1 was a direct competitor to Ibanez Tube Screamer and, similar to the latter, featured circuitry based on operational amplifiers and a buffered bypass.

The original OD-1 had only two controls: Drive and Level, whereas OD-1X has also a two-stage EQ with separate high and low knobs allowing more control over the tone.
